For the 2022 model year, Hyundai is upping the stakes and taking its Tuscon to new levels by offering an N Line and Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) variant. Use this guide to learn what you can expect from these brand-new options and why you should consider them for your next vehicle.
Performance
The N Line is the Tuscon’s first-ever high-performance option, and it has a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Expect this engine to produce 290 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The PHEV has a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that has a combined output of 261 horsepower.
Fuel Efficiency
With the N Line, expect to get an estimated 26 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive, and 24 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway with all-wheel drive. The PHEV gets an all-electric driving range of 32 miles and a fuel economy rating of 70 mpg-equivalent.
Exterior
The N Line has a sportier exterior, highlighted by more aggressive lines on its front and back. It also includes blacked-out side mirrors and N Line badging. Other than the prominent plug-in badge on the rear, the PHEV looks similar to the standard Tucson, which includes daytime running lights integrated into the vehicle’s grille and geometric shapes along its body.
Sometimes, the best way to determine if a vehicle is right for you is to take it out for a spin. If you’re interested in sitting behind either the Tucson N Line or Plug-In Hybrid, reach out to the experts at Jim Click Hyundai Auto Mall.
